Submit Your Paper

Call for Submissions: The Making History journal invites undergraduate students to submit their original research! Published annually, we provide a platform for students to showcase their scholarship and contribute to the broader fields of History and Geography. We welcome submissions on any historical subject, and are currently accepting entries for the 2026 Issue until October 15th, 2025. Detailed submission guidelines can be found below.

Eligibility:

• Papers should have received an A- or above in a UTA history or geography class or in a faculty-led independent study
• The journal is open to any UTA undergraduate or MA student
• Submissions must be original and should not have been previously submitted to the Making History journal or published elsewhere.

Formatting:

• To maintain anonymous review, no identifying information should appear on any other page of your submission
• Times New Roman, 12pt Font
• Double Spaced
• Submissions should follow the Chicago Manual Style.

Length:

• Papers should be between 4000-8000 words, including citations.

Peer Review Process:

• Journal submissions that meet our criteria are peer reviewed by faculty and graduate students in a related historical sub-field.

Submission Portal:

• Submit your papers to Making.History@uta.edu in the .doc format by the indicated deadline.
